I offer the following state of the art modalities:
LOW INTENSITY LASER
Applied directly to the skin, the laser wand produces photon energy that helps release nitric oxide (NO) from hemoglobin in the red blood cells. NO increases local microcirculation, helping to deliver oxygen and nutrients as well as reducing pain, stiffness, and muscle spasm, and accelerate the healing process. Four widely accepted effects are
1) Biostimulation/Tissue Regeneration (as in wound healing)
2) Reduction of Inflammation
3) Analgesia
4) Antibacterial/Antiviral
ULTRASOUND
The ultrasound machine produces deep heat that Physical Therapists can use to help loosen tight tissues. This heating mechanism is thought to be responsible for increasing blood flow, as well as metabolic and enzymatic activity. There are also non-thermal effects such as possibly changing cell wall permeability that may enhance or accelerate healing and reduce pain. It can be used to loosen up soft tissue and to increase circulation. One of the benefits of using ultrasound is that the heat penetrates deep into the area being treated. In a surgical situation, a patient may have built up scar tissue that has hardened, or fluid, causing pain. By using ultrasound, the heat will increase blood flow to the region, which then helps break up the scar tissue, or facilitates the fluid to be reabsorbed by the body, and get things moving again. Another possible benefit of ultrasound is that it is thought to increase the metabolism of the cells that it is striking, so it speeds healing and saves muscle tissue.

ELECTRICAL STIMULATION
Electrode pads are placed on muscles, and a comfortable current is used both for the control of pain or for strengthening weak muscles
As well as the following therapeutic exercise equipment:
- TREADMILL,
- BALANCE BOARDS/AIR CUSHIONS,
- CAVALETTI RAILS, AND
- OBSTACLE COURSE.
I can also assist owners in sizing and purchasing adaptive equipment such as splints, wheeled carts and assistive harnesses. I will teach each owner what they can do at home, and create a program with written instructions.
